A Solis Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, we decided to stay home and have our own turkey dinner and just spend some quiet time with just us. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. I loved being able to cook the Thanksgiving meal and be at home with the people I love the most in this world. My husband, Jacob, is such a wonderful man. I can't believe he actually chose me to be his eternal companion. I feel so lucky every time I look at him. And of course, Kori. She has taught me so much in the short time she's been here. I love being able to be at home with her every day. I only hope I can teach her all the things that she needs to learn and be there for her. I look forward to watching her grow into a beautiful woman. This Thanksgiving had to be one of my favorites. :)

Our menu consisted of: Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes and gravy, Cinnamon Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Corn, Olives, Winter Salad and Rhodes Rolls. And dessert was pumpkin squares and vanilla ice cream. Yummy!

Kori enjoyed her first Thanksgiving dinner. She did good and ate her whole plate of food. :)

Our little Kori!

I couldn't help but post some pictures of Kori and to show off how cute this little one is. She is a very animated little girl and loves to get into everything! (Of course, I don't know what toddler doesn't like to do that!) She's climbing on things, running around (not very balanced yet, then again, she has her mommy's clumsiness), and looking so cute while doing it. Forgive me for all the pictures in her p.j.'s and hair not done. She's a total tom-boy and hates to have anything in her hair!

20 Weeks and Counting!

So, I am officially half way through my pregnancy! The big 2-0! Yay! We are getting a little closer to meeting our newest addition to the family! I really can't wait to see how this baby is going to differ from Kori. It's going to be crazy and fun at the same time. Well, here's another baby bump pic to see my progress.

Playing catch up!

So I know I haven't posted anything in a while, so here goes the long post of playing catch up!

September

September was fun for us because we were finally able to move into a place of our own. He moved up to Henderson, NV on September 10. It was really good for us to be back together as a family again every day. I can't tell you how much I missed having Jacob with me every day and night.

I don't have a pic right now of the apartment but I will get one up soon because we painted some of the walls and I'm trying to do a new color scheme in all of the rooms. So, you'll have to wait for the pictures.

Also in September was my 28th birthday! Crazy, I know. I still feel like I'm 20 years old just barely getting out of high school (mentally, I should say). Because I think my body is starting to show it's age, with the back aches and knee aches. It's horrible. Oh well, what can you do. I didn't really do much for my birthday because I told Jacob all I wanted for my birthday was to be moved into an apartment back together. And we were! He got me an ice cream cake, that was delicious by the way. And Kori seemed to enjoy it as well.

October

October was a busy month for us. We had a new addition to the Solis side of the family. Loretta, Jacob's mom, was married to Ivan Hullinger. They were married on October 8th. It was a good day and a blessing to be able to see Loretta and Ivan get sealed in the Redlands Temple.

Also in October is Jacob's birthday! He turned 27 this year. For his birthday we just hung out at home and chilled because the weekend before was his mom's wedding. So for him we got a pumpkin pie. Yumm, not! Just kidding, it's what he wanted!

And of course, in October there is Halloween. For Halloween this year I made Kori's costume. I saw a post on a blog on how to make your own puppy costume. So I thought, Kori loves puppy's, so why don't I just make her be a puppy. And I did.

Don't you just love her little "Puppy Chow" trick-or-treat pail! I thought that was too cute to pass up. :) We went to our Ward's Halloween Party on the Friday before Halloween and on Halloween night we went over to a friend's house for dinner and went trick-or-treating in track homes near us. It was a fun night.

And, I did a pregnant belly shot on October 30th, to show my progress. I was 16 weeks in this shot.

Also, we had got a sonogram done of the baby at 12 weeks. The baby was doing fine and everything looked good. :) Yay!

November

In November we were able to go to another doctor's appointment. But this time, it was to have another sonogram for the 18 week one and to see the sex of the baby! So it turns out we are having a girl! Yay! That makes it so much easier for us since we already have everything. We can't wait to meet her! The pictures we got weren't really good. We got one of her heartbeat?? and two of face on shots that just make her look like a skeleton. Oh well, we at least got a decent one at her 12 week appointment.

We also were able to celebrate Rose's birthday that weekend we were down for the sonogram appointment. She turned 41 this year. We celebrated by going to the Market Broiler in Ontario.

Loved this picture of Jacob and Kori! It was too cute to pass up!

We celebrated my mom's birthday as well the next day! She'd probably be mad at me for putting her age on here, so I won't! But, it was fun to see everybody again and let Kori get to know her cousin's a little bit more.
